Loros Hospice – the challenge:
Loros Hospice, a well-respected charity providing palliative care, was in search of a highly skilled Finance Director. Given the unique nature of their work, it wasn’t just about finding someone with the right technical qualifications and experience. The leadership team recognised that to maintain the compassion, integrity, and professionalism that define their organisation, it was essential to recruit someone who would fit seamlessly into their culture. They needed a leader who would not only excel in financial management but also possess the interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various teams and stakeholders while embodying the core values of Loros Hospice.
What We Did:
To support Loros Hospice in this important recruitment process, we implemented, we integrating advanced personality profiling and cognitive assessments to ensure a great cultural fit as well as professional competence.
The DISC personality assessment was used to gain deeper insights into candidates’ behavioural tendencies and how they would interact with the existing team. This allowed us to identify the right mix of traits essential for the role—such as decisiveness, leadership, empathy, and communication skills.
In addition, we utilised a General Intelligence Assessment (GIA) to measure the cognitive ability of candidates, ensuring that they had the mental agility to quickly analyse complex financial data and navigate the challenges of the role.
Using the DISC and GIA results, interview questions and scenarios were designed to assess candidates’ reactions in various work situations, to assess suitability and fit.
